NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE. MNPS Virtual School would like to celebrate the Class of 2023 by featuring our outstanding students.
Leah Ladd joined MNPS Virtual School in the Fall of 2021. Leah plans to attend Nashville State Community College to take advantage of the TN Promise Scholarship and then transfer to Tennessee State University. When asked about this decision, Leah shared, “There are several scholarships at TSU I would like to apply for, the school is close to home, and several former teachers have said great things about the University!”
Leah plans to pursue a degree in Interior Design at Nashville State to support her in her goal of becoming a Real Estate agent. Additionally, Leah noted if interior design and real estate are not a good fit for her, she would consider Social Work. Leah has a compassionate heart and feels a career in social work would make a positive impact on her community.
When asked what advice she would provide to other MNPS Virtual School students, Leah offers, “You are never alone. If you are struggling, please ask for help. You are here at this school for a reason and it’s such an understanding and helpful staff. I’ve never felt judged or misunderstood, so please if you need something don’t be afraid to ask, it will eventually pay off.”
Reflecting on Leah's support system, Leah shared, “The two people I would pick from my school environment are definitely Mr. Hawk and Mrs. Bauman. These two people have made me trust them and have showed an interest to get to know my life outside of school. They have motivated me to keep going and shown me it’s going to be ok.” Outside of school, Leah would like to thank her stepmom, Ashley Powell, because of their close relationship and how she always makes Leah “feel like a normal person in this big world.” Leah enjoys going on walks or to the zoo with her son and nephew. She also enjoys shopping, working, and spending time with family.
ABOUT MNPS VIRTUAL SCHOOL. MNPS Virtual School's 12th Annual Graduation Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 24th The ceremony will begin at 1:00 PM in the Sadler Auditorium at The Cohn School to celebrate the accomplishments of Hailey and all our MNPS Virtual School graduates.
