Looking for a summer job? Opportunity NOW positions posted!
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE. Students, it is time to start thinking about summer employment. Opportunity NOW, an initiative of the Mayor’s office, is gearing up for paid summer employment for students. The initiative's goal is to get more youth in paying jobs during the summer months. While it’s great to make money over the summer, the six-week Opportunity NOW program also provides an opportunity for students to gain valuable skills that will help with postsecondary life. MNPS Virtual School is encouraging all students to look into Opportunity NOW to see the many different positions available.
In the first year of the program, 362 employers posted over 11,000 jobs. There is a wide variety of jobs that will interest many different types of students. Positions have already been posted on the Opportunity NOW Portal. Students should begin the application process now. Learners will need to create an account before being able to look and apply for positions. The deadline to apply for summer employment is March 18, 2019.
Students applying for Opportunity NOW must be Davidson County residents and between 14-24 years old. If you have questions or want more information, please contact the Opportunity NOW coordinator, Tara Morgan, via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
