College Financial Aid Information

  • FAFSA

    The Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA is a required step in awarding both state and federal aid.

    • Deadline:  Application opens on October 1 and closes on February 1 each year.

  • TN Promise Scholarship

    The TN Promise Scholarship allows students to receive two (2) years of tuition free education at one of the state's community colleges or TCATS. Review a complete list of participating schools.

    Upon completing two (2) years and earning an associates degree at a community college, students have the option to transfer to a bachelor’s degree program at any public university and many private universities in Tennessee as part of the TN Transfer Pathway.

  • Hope Scholarship
    The Hope Scholarship is awarded based on student information provided via the FAFSA application. Students must graduate from high school with a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 or earn at least a 21 composite score on the ACT.   • MNPS Schoology Scholarship Page
    Seniors are encouraged to regularly visit the MNPS Schoology Scholarship Group for postings on available scholarships.

ACT & SAT Information

All Tennessee students must take a national assessment (ACT or SAT) before graduation. This is mandated by Tennessee Code Annotated (i.e., state law). Every MNPS student has the opportunity to take the ACT, at no cost, during the Spring semester of their junior year at MNPS Virtual School. Students may retake the ACT at no cost in the Fall semester of their senior year. Visit the websites of testing agencies for more information and national test dates.

    MNPS has information, videos, and resources available to prepare students for taking the ACT.
  • Mastery Prep

    Juniors and Seniors can access Mastery Prep, an ACT preparation platform that includes full-length practice tests with immediate scores.

    • Log into Schoology
    • In the top right-hand corner, select the dialogue box (waffle)
    • Select TruScore
    • Select Accept
    • Click ACT Practice Test 17A on the left-hand menu to get started.

  • Sample Online ACT Test
    To become familiar with taking the ACT in an online platform, students have access to a Free Online Practice ACT Test. No username or password is required. Select Practice Test under the sign-in button.
