Virtual School for Students Grades 4 through 12

MNPS Virtual School is Tennessee's first, highest-achieving virtual school since 2011. Our school offers full-time enrollment options for students in grades 4 through 12, including the opportunity to graduate from MNPS Virtual School.

  • Elementary students at MNPS Virtual School in grades 4 and 5 receive 30 hours of (live) direct instruction each week. Grades 4 and 5 have a daily synchronous component.
  • Students in grades 6-12 receive instruction primarily in an asynchronous format, although synchronous connections with teachers are limited.
    • Asynchronous means students and teachers access our courses and participate at differing times—not needing to be online simultaneously.

The elementary online learning model is different than secondary because additional support is needed for the younger grades.
